WILPF San Jose Monthly Meeting

In anticipation of the 2024 election, WILPF San Jose member Rev. Rowan Fairgrove offered a two-part talk about the history of women's suffrage in America. As always, our monthly meeting videos are posted to our YouTube channel and are included here.  Also, The PowerPoint presentations for these talks are available to WILPF chapters that may wish to use them as a basis for their own programming.

In 2025, WILPF will celebrate 110 years of its strong peace and justice work. Let’s celebrate regionally, in person and virtually, and get to know more people with similar values! Let’s make plans to tackle the problems in our regions! Contact branch leaders and Jane Addams at-large members to find organizers to plan a conference on topics of concern in your region.

Nurture the seeds planted at the UN! Please print out this postcard on cardstock and mail it to a WILPF friend or prospective member. The UN Summit of the Future was a forward-looking gathering. WILPF members who work directly with the UN had the opportunity to provide feedback as the Pact for the Future was being developed.

Bylaws – how boring! However, our bylaws are the guidelines we set to establish and maintain our WILPF community. And – like most other aspects of life – our community is changing over time. In choosing what we want to initiate or continue – and what we want to let go of. We will be putting out our guidelines in black and white so we can propose and vote on amendments to our bylaws to address the changes.

May Takayanagi

Longtime WILPF activist May Takayanagi passed away earlier this year, two months shy of her 100th birthday. May, whose family had immigrated from Japan, was put into internment camps during WWII. Some of her fellow WILPF members share their memories of her and her passion for justice.
