California WILPF members left the September 19 cluster meeting energized to work on state legislation, national issues and connecting with international ideals. Forty-five women from eight branches brought questions, proposals and experience to the gathering hosted by the San Jose Branch.

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Lamia (Mia) Sadek for the position of managing director of WILPF US. Mia's international work, cross sector collaboration and nonprofit and private sector experience made her stand out among the many applicants.
Cathy and Alex Deppe of Los Angeles WILPF joined hands with Japanese peace activists during conferences commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and members of the Boston Branch brought a message of solidarity to the consulate in Boston.
As of this writing enough Senators say they will vote in support of the Iran Deal to keep the US a part of this potentially momentous agreement. Some legislators are already under tremendous pressure to change their votes.
