DISARM invites you to take part in several actions during July to help highlight the scourge of nuclear weapons and advocate for their abolition: Watch the documentary To End All War: Oppenheimer and the Atomic Bomb on July 9 and the dramatic film Oppenheimer; gather petition signatures urging the President to sign the TPNW; and lobby your congressperson to support the Norton Bill (including in-person in DC on July 12/13).

Announcements & Updates: Our first virtual Gathering for all WILPF US members will be held Wednesday and Thursday evenings, August 16 and 17, and will include presentations and breakout rooms; the national board has approved two “official” logo options for branches to use.
On July 6–9, Global Women for Peace Against NATO will gather in Brussels, Belgium, and “virtually” in countries around the world. Events are open to all. Please read and sign the Declaration of Peace, and send it to your family, friends, and colleagues!
The situation of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories continues to deteriorate. Collective action by organizations of conscience is needed. Get your communities to endorse and live into the Apartheid-Free Pledge.
WILPF’s Cuba and the Bolivarian Alliance Issue Committee invites you to join us in a new aspect of the campaign to remove Cuba from the US State Sponsors of Terrorism List. Legislation has been introduced in the US Congress trying to block this effort – ask your legislators to vote no on H.R.314/S.538 – FORCE Act!

The Des Moines Branch advocated for “No Mow May” as a response to the dwindling count of pollinators. The effort quickly gained support and led to publicity and a City Proclamation.
Over four Thursday mornings in May, WILPF’s Women, Money & Democracy Committee (W$D) co-hosted with Alliance For Just Money (AFJM) a lively study group of twelve who dove deeper into the Future in Our Pockets webinar (FiOP).
